About the Role

Long Term Futures is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Haringey, N17. This role is based in a Year 2 class supporting two male pupils with ASD alongside general classroom responsibilities.

The successful candidate will deliver one-on-one support and small group instruction, helping pupils access the curriculum and thrive socially and academically. Working closely with teaching staff, you'll implement behaviour management techniques and contribute to lesson planning. You'll also play an important pastoral role, supporting emotional regulation and positive relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one support and small group instruction tailored to specific learning needs.
  • Assist with lesson planning, adapting resources for accessibility and engagement.
  • Apply consistent behaviour management strategies to support classroom focus.
  • Help with progress monitoring, tracking student development and feeding back to staff.
  • Offer pastoral care, supporting emotional and social well-being.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and teaching team to ensure inclusive practice.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting children in Key Stage 1, particularly pupils with ASD.
  • Understanding of one-on-one tutoring, behaviour management, and pastoral support.
  • Ability to contribute to lesson planning and effectively monitor progress.
  • A caring and proactive attitude, ready to support a range of learning needs.
