Reeson Education is seeking a caring and committed Special Education Teaching Assistant to join our client's staff on a one-year contract starting in September. This position is full-time, five days a week, during term time only. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in offering tailored support and assistance to our special needs students, working either one-on-one or with a small group. The students' needs encompass Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and emotional and behavioral challenges.
Duties:
Help classroom teachers execute Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students with varying learning needs.
Offer personalized support to students in both one-on-one and small group settings during lessons and activities.
Assist students with personal care needs such as toileting, feeding, and mobility when necessary.
Cultivate a supportive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes student involvement and active participation.
Aid in the application of behavioral interventions and strategies to facilitate positive behavior management.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to enhance student growth and progress.
Ensure a safe and orderly classroom environment that prioritises the well-being and safety of all students.
Requirements:
Prior experience working with individuals with special educational needs is advantageous.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Patience, empathy, and a sincere dedication to working with students with diverse learning needs.
Ability to work efficiently both as a team member and independently.
Readiness to undergo relevant training and professional development as necessary.
