Teaching Assistant - Year 1 - Camden Borough - Long Term Role

A primary school in Camden Borough is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis. The role involves working 1:1 with a Year 1 pupil who has Autism (ASD) and requires daily personal care support. This is an ASAP start following the October half-term.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will have previous experience working with children with ASD and understand the importance of patience, compassion, and consistency. The school is seeking a Teaching Assistant who is confident with behaviour management and can create a positive, supportive learning environment for the child.

Key Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant:

Teaching assistant to provide 1:1 support for the Year 1 student, helping them with academic tasks and social development.
Teaching assistant to assist with daily personal care as required.
Work alongside the class teacher to ensure the child's needs are met and lessons are adapted accordingly.
Manage behaviour with a calm and understanding approach, creating a nurturing environment for the child.
