A welcoming primary school in North London is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a young boy in their Reception class. This role is ideal for someone experienced in supporting children with high emotional needs and passionate about creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Offer tailored 1:1 support to a Reception pupil, helping to manage high emotional needs and build confidence in the classroom.
- Develop and implement strategies to assist with emotional regulation and promote positive behaviours.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SEN team to create a nurturing and supportive learning plan for the child.
- Encourage the child's participation in group activities, ensuring they feel included and supported in all aspects of school life.
- Step in to support the wider class when required, contributing to a positive and productive learning environment.
What We're Looking for in a Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with children with additional emotional or behavioural needs.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach, with the confidence to adapt to different situations.
- The ability to work independently and use initiative to overcome challenges.
- A calm, nurturing presence, capable of building trust and strong relationships with pupils and staff.
- An Enhanced DBS or willingness to process one through Reeson Education.
