The Opportunity:
Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking to support young learners in Key Stage 1? Long Term Futures is seeking a proactive individual to join a welcoming school in Waltham Forest. This role involves working primarily within the classroom while also leading small group interventions to support children's academic and social development.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working in a primary school setting, particularly in Key Stage 1.
- A good understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and strategies to support learning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with pupils, teachers, and parents.
- A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to the needs of the class and individual children.
- A passion for fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
- Working with small groups of children to provide targeted support in literacy, numeracy, and other subjects.
- Assisting with classroom management to create a focused and productive learning environment.
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to the teacher.
- Supporting the social and emotional development of children, encouraging positive behavior and confidence.
- Helping to adapt learning materials to meet the needs of all students.
