Location: Primary School in Lewisham
Position: Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support for a Year 5 Child with Dyslexia)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
Contract: Until July 2025 (potentially continue into Sept 25 pending funding)
Start Date: As soon as possible

Are you passionate about making a difference in a child's educational journey? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a Year 5 pupil with dyslexia. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive and vibrant primary school located in Lewisham.



Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 student with dyslexia, helping them with reading, writing and other areas of learning as needed.
  • Use dyslexia- friendly strategies and resources to support literacy skills, such as phonics programs, visual aids, and multi sensory techniques
  • Adapt and modify learning materials to suit the child's individual learning needs
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement effective learning strategies.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.


Teaching Assistant Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working with childrenin a Primary and/or SEN Unit
  • Understanding of dyslexia and strategies to support children with specific learning difficulties.


Ideal Teaching Assistant will:

  • Be empathetic, patient, and passionate about supporting children's learning and development.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Be proactive and adaptable in meeting the child's evolving needs as a Teaching Assistant
