Supporting pupils with Autism, SLD and PMLD

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be a crucial part of the schools mission to create an environment where every student can thrive academically and personally, regardless of their challenges. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide individualized support and implement strategies that promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.

Contract Type: Full-time (Permanent contracts on offer after duration at school- subject to performance)

Skills and Experience

We would love to hear from you if you have experience or a passion for supporting pupils with Autism (ASD), with the skills to plan and deliver high quality lessons to suit pupils' individual learning needs and to provide professional leadership and direction within your own curriculum area.

To be successful in this role, you will be an effective and reflective classroom teacher able to demonstrate and share good practice in the field of ASD in a primary or secondary setting.

The school are committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of pupils. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check before taking up post.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in a similar Teaching Assistant role is advantageous.
  • Empathy and a genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.
  • As an Teaching Assistant you will have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents.
  • As an Teaching Assistant you will have or be willing to learn knowledge of relevant strategies and interventions.
