Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with complex needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with PMLD, ASD and ADHDassisting with their educational and personal care needs
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and ensure students' diverse needs are met
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials to make them accessible and engaging for students with PMLD, ASD and ADHD
- Support students in developing their communication, social, and life skills
- Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment, fostering a sense of belonging and self-confidence for all students
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with Special Educational Needs
- Understanding of different learning styles and methods to support students with diverse needs
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant certifications or willingness to undergo training in special education and support techniques
Day-to-Day
- Assist students with SEN in their daily activities and learning tasks
- Implement strategies and activities to support students' academic and personal development
- Communicate regularly with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure coordinated support for students with diverse needs
- Foster a nurturing and supportive environment where all students feel valued and included
