Our mission is to empower children, celebrate diversity, and help every student reach their full potential. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the Key Stage 1 phase.

The Role:
As a KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with children who have a range of additional learning needs. Your role will involve providing one-on-one and group support in the classroom, assisting with tailored learning plans, and fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for all students. You will be working under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO to help students achieve their individual learning goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons that are accessible for all students, particularly those with SEN.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group interventions for children with a range of learning difficulties.
  • Help children to build their confidence and develop essential skills, both academically and socially.
  • Support children with SEN during classroom activities, ensuring they can participate fully.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other specialized learning strategies.
  • Build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents to ensure effective communication and support.
  • Contribute to the development of a safe and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a SEN setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to supporting students with additional needs.
  • Good understanding of child development and SEN, especially within the KS1 age range.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with teaching staff.
  • Strong communication skills, both with children and adults.
  • A commitment to the welfare and inclusion of all students.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
