We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic team at our partner school in Lambeth.
The successful candidate will assist the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality educational experiences, managing classroom behavior, and providing personalised learning support to students.
This role requires previous experience in a classroom setting, proficiency in 1:1 student support, and a creative approach to differential learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher in preparing and delivering lessons, ensuring all students are engaged and supported.- Manage classroom behavior effectively, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.- Provide 1:1 support to students with additional learning needs, tailoring assistance to their individual requirements.- Support the implementation of creative and differentiated learning activities to cater to diverse student abilities and learning styles.- Help with the assessment and tracking of student progress, providing feedback to the teacher and contributing to student development plans.- Supervise students during break times, educational trips, and other school activities as required.- Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and classroom resources.- Collaborate with other teaching assistants and staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.- Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment, adhering to school policies and procedures.- Undertake any other duties as directed by the classroom teacher or school leadership team.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience working in a classroom setting is essential.- Strong skills in behavior management and learning support.- Ability to provide effective 1:1 support to students.- Creative approach to differential learning, adapting teaching methods to suit individual student abilities.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.- A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one.- Reliable, patient, and enthusiastic with a genuine passion for supporting student learning and development.
