This role is crucial in delivering high-quality education and fostering a nurturing environment that supports the holistic development of our students. You will be instrumental in planning, assessing, and delivering outstanding teaching and learning experiences in Textiles.

Day-to-day of the Textiles Lecturer Position:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and execute engaging and effective lessons in Textiles, utilising various teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Pastoral Care: Attend to the pastoral needs of students, ensuring their well-being and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Industry Integration: Bring real-world insights and experiences from the Textiles industry into the classroom, providing students with practical knowledge and preparing them for professional endeavours.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain excellent relationships with students, promoting a collaborative and supportive atmosphere within the learning community.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the Textiles curriculum, staying updated on industry trends and educational best practices.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Set and mark assignments, tests, and examinations, providing constructive feedback to learners to support their learning and improvement.
  • Progress Monitoring: Rigorously monitor and track learners’ progress, providing regular feedback and implementing strategies to address areas of weakness or underperformance.
  • Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational methodologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications for the Lecturer in Textiles:

  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Proven experience in teaching Textiles or a closely related field.
  • Strong ability to plan, deliver, and assess effective lessons.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
