This role is crucial in delivering high-quality education and fostering a nurturing environment that supports the holistic development of our students. You will be instrumental in planning, assessing, and delivering outstanding teaching and learning experiences in Textiles.
Day-to-day of the Textiles Lecturer Position:
- Curriculum Delivery: Plan and execute engaging and effective lessons in Textiles, utilising various teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Pastoral Care: Attend to the pastoral needs of students, ensuring their well-being and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Industry Integration: Bring real-world insights and experiences from the Textiles industry into the classroom, providing students with practical knowledge and preparing them for professional endeavours.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain excellent relationships with students, promoting a collaborative and supportive atmosphere within the learning community.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the Textiles curriculum, staying updated on industry trends and educational best practices.
- Assessment and Feedback: Set and mark assignments, tests, and examinations, providing constructive feedback to learners to support their learning and improvement.
- Progress Monitoring: Rigorously monitor and track learners’ progress, providing regular feedback and implementing strategies to address areas of weakness or underperformance.
- Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational methodologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications for the Lecturer in Textiles:
- Recognised teaching qualification
- Proven experience in teaching Textiles or a closely related field.
- Strong ability to plan, deliver, and assess effective lessons.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Ability to integrate industry experience into teaching practices.
- A strong understanding of the pastoral needs of students and how to address them.
