Sanza Teaching Agency is recruiting on behalf of a vibrant, diverse, and friendly primary school in Islington, seeking a passionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Year 5 pupil with Autism.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a child with Autism, helping them access the curriculum and thrive in the classroom environment.
  • Implement the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP) and tailor your approach to meet their specific learning needs.
  • Support the child with social, emotional, and behavioural development, using strategies to foster positive engagement.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor the child's progress and adapt strategies as needed.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment to encourage independence and confidence in the pupil.
  • Engage with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure the child's well-being and holistic development.


The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working 1:1 with children with Autism or similar SEND needs.
  • Be patient, empathetic, and understanding of the challenges faced by children with Autism.
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and specialists.
  • Be proactive in using strategies and interventions to manage behaviour and support the child's social and emotional needs.
  • Ideally hold a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent, though unqualified candidates with relevant experience will also be considered.
