About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Specialist Unpaid Carers Worker to provide comprehensive support to unpaid carers, including family and informal carers, within the Adult Social Care service. You will be the primary point of contact for enquiries related to unpaid carer services, ensuring effective communication between Adult Social Care and commissioned providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a central contact for unpaid carers, offering advice, guidance, and support.
  • Respond to enquiries from Adult Social Care and commissioned service providers, escalating urgent matters where necessary.
  • Conduct Carers Assessments and ensure accurate records are maintained.
  • Support unpaid carers in accessing services, resources, and community networks.
  • Assist Adult Social Care colleagues with unpaid carer-related casework.
  • Promote awareness and access to unpaid carer services through outreach activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of social care legislation, safeguarding, and best practices.
About You

We are looking for an individual with:

  • Experience in a front-line social care or support role.
  • Knowledge of adult social care services and the challenges faced by unpaid carers.
  • Strong communication, administrative, and organisational skills.
  • The ability to assess needs and signpost carers to appropriate services.
  • A commitment to delivering excellent customer care.
  • The ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends.
