Deputy Nursery Manager  - Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join our vibrant nursery team in London. The Deputy Nursery Manager will play a key role in supporting the Nursery Manager in the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring high standards of care and education for children, and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

Assist the Nursery Manager in leading and managing the nursery team.

Supervise staff, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and standards.

Act as the Nursery Manager in their absence, making decisions and overseeing nursery operations.

Support the recruitment, training, and development of nursery staff.

Childcare and Education:

Ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for children.

Implement the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs.

Foster a positive and inclusive environment where each child’s needs are met.

Health and Safety:

Ensure the nursery environment is safe, clean, and well-maintained.

Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Administer first aid and handle emergencies appropriately.

Parent and Community Engagement:

Build strong, positive relationships with parents and carers.

Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development and well-being.

Organize and participate in events and activities to promote community engagement.

Administrative Duties:

Assist with administrative tasks, including record-keeping, attendance tracking, and financial management.

Ensure compliance with Ofsted requirements and other regulatory bodies.

Contribute to policy development and implementation.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare (or equivalent).

First Aid certification.

Safeguarding training.

Experience:

Significant experience working in a nursery or early years setting.

Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role is desirable.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Comprehensive understanding of the EYFS framework.

Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.

Strong organizational and administrative skills.
