Nursery Deputy Manager

We are seekinga passionate and dedicated Deputy Manager to join our wonderful team.We are a lovely private home-from-home setting with a brand new unitcatering for up to 60children aged 12months-5 years old. TheNurseryis open between the hours of 8:00am - 6.00pm.

Hours per week: 40hr per week, 51 weeks

Main duties & Responsibilities of Deputy Manager Role:

  • To work under the direction of the nursery manager and deputise in the manager's absence.
  • To support the aims and objectives of the nursery and assist the manager in the organisation of a high quality establishment for children from birth to 5 years.
  • Assist in the leading and implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.You will provide inclusive play and learning opportunities for all children attending the nursery.
  • To be responsible for the Health and Safety standards appropriate for the needs of young children and ensuring staff compliance and awareness.
  • To provide high standards of childcare and education - to include the monitoring and reviews of provision, this includes providing a safe, caring environment to enable the emotional, social and educational development of children, through individual attention and group activities.
  • conducting and coordinating parent showarounds, parents evenings and workshops/events
  • You will be responsible for assisting the Nursery Manager with curriculum planning, staffing levels and behaviour management.
  • To assist with the implementation of administrative procedures involved with registration, place allocation, and other related matters.
  • To be responsible for a group of key children including observations, assessment and individual planning
  • To attend and contribute fully to staff meetings and training sessions outside working hours, as required
  • To identify staff development and training needs
    To be responsible for students on placement within the nursery.
  • To ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development.
  • To liaise with outside professionals/agencies as and when required
  • To ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times
  • To maintain the confidentiality of information at all times
  • To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined from time to time by the nursery manager.

Requirements:

  • Successful applicants will need a minimum level 3 early years education and childcare qualification or equivalent.
  • Proven post-qualification experience in working in early education and childcare.Provenexperienceof line managing staff.
  • Ability to help the Nursery Manager to manage the nursery's resources to ensure expenditure is in line with its budget.
  • Ability to inspire people to deliver results and set clear objectives for self and team. Leading and managingthe team in raising standards for the nursery.
  • You will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check if your current certificate is notsubscribedto the updateservice.
