Role: Head of Finance (Treasury)

Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for a Head of Finance (Treasury) for our Local Authority client.
The Responsibilities of the Head of Finance (Treasury) will be;
- Act as a key member of the Finance Leadership Team, contributing to the overall strategic direction and leadership of the Council's financial services
- Lead the preparation, maintenance, and delivery of the Treasury Strategy and Policy
- Ensure the Treasury Strategy aligns with the financial objectives and statutory obligations
- Continually reassess the treasury position considering developments in the capital programme and financial markets
- Manage the cash flows, short-term investments, and both short-term and long-term borrowing
- Ensure full compliance with the approved Treasury Management Strategy Statement
- Advise the Director of Finance on the optimal duration and timing for long-term borrowing, including from different sources
- Ensure timely re-letting of service contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively.
The Ideal candidate for the Head of Finance (Treasury) will have;
- Professional accountancy qualification (e.g., CIPFA, ACCA, ACA)
- Significant experience in treasury management and public sector finance
- Strong leadership and strategic management skills
- Strategic financial planning and management
- Effective leadership and team management
- Stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
