Horticulture Team Leader

The Role

Are you passionate about horticulture, landscaping and would you like to introduce trainees into the industry? If so, they’d love you to join them at London’s leading community and environmental charity. 

Over the last 25 years, the organised Green Skills Teams have provided hundreds of unemployed Londoners with their first taste of work in grounds maintenance and horticulture.  They are at the very heart of the delivery of several of employment programmes and their newest landscaping and sustainable urban drainage projects. The team works closely with their award-winning Landscape Design Services team on projects. 

Each of their Green Teams offer unemployed Londoners up to six months of paid work experience in teams led by their experienced staff. They are seeking a Team Leader who will play a key role in the operation of the team and oversee, plus participate in the delivery of their grounds maintenance, horticultural and landscaping contracts.  You will liaise with their current clients and support the Green Team Programme Manager in the development of new opportunities for the team. The key aim is for their trainees to receive the best opportunities to develop their skills and experience to enable them to enter horticulture roles within the Green and Open Spaces sector. 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Have a strong track record leading a team of grounds maintenance team, landscaping professionals to deliver high-quality grounds maintenance and small landscaping contracts.  
  • Have the ability to build and maintain great client relationships. 
  • Can demonstrate a desire to put their trainees at the heart of their service delivery and support their progression into careers in the industry. 
  • Are organised, and able to meet targets & deadlines by managing your and the team’s workload.
