We are working with a company wholly owned by a local authority to deliver responsive repairs, maintenance and refurbishments to the 16,000 council homes across Hounslow. It is an exciting time to join this forward-thinking organisation which is committed to maintaining excellent customer satisfaction rates whilst generating financial return to the council.

A new Director of Repairs and Maintenance is needed to provide strategic leadership and operational management to the repairs and maintenance team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality best in class service for all customers.Ā  With ambitious growth plans and a desire to be a market leader it is an ideal time to join a dynamic team that will offer the right candidate with opportunities to work on exciting and challenging projects.

The role involves:

  • Leading and managing the repairs and maintenance team
  • Overseeing all responsive, planned, cyclical and day-to-day maintenance and void repairs
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and best practice
  • Developing and implementing strategies to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction, maintain property standards, and achieve value for money
  • Working closely with the Executive team to drive forward improvements, ensuring KPIs are met and supporting the organisationā€™s strategic objectives

You will need:

  • A relevant housing qualification and full membership of a relevant professionalĀ institution e.g. RICS, CIoH
  • Substantial experience in social housing residential property maintenance and management, legal compliance and health and safety legislation
  • Demonstrable commercial experience, expertise, and acumen
  • Experience relevant to in house maintenance teams and Local AuthorityĀ trading companies
  • Demonstrable experience leading a customer first team and processes.
  • Experience of leading, motivating and managing multi-disciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to deliver innovative solutions whilst maintaining continuity of services
  • Experience of leading and motivating teams with a customer centric approach
  • The desire, experience and ability to work independently and report to the executive team
  • Ideally with experience of working in a similar for profit arm of a local authority or within a housing association
