HANDS-ON HOUSE MANAGER/HEAD HOUSEKEEPER FOR UHNW FAMILY IN LONDON & SURREY

Location: London & Surrey Contract: Full-time Permanent Salary: Negotiable, DOEStatus: Live-out

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and hands-on House Manager/Head Housekeeper to support a high-net-worth family with the management and upkeep of their properties in London and Surrey. Responsible for managing the family’s main residence in Belgravia and second home in Surrey, you will have exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working for HNWI’s and have a thorough understanding of how private households operate.

Responsible for managing the family’s household staff in Belgravia and Surrey, including drawing up their weekly work schedules to ensure that there is sufficient cover in both properties and liaising with the family’s PA to keep up to date with the family’s schedule and travel plans, you will collaboratively work with two full-time housekeepers and one part-time housekeeper, undertaking general housekeeping, laundry, and wardrobe management duties. It is essential that you are a team player with a flexible approach who is willing and able to step in to cover any scheduling gaps or to substitute for team members who are absent.

Additional responsibilities will include managing household expenses and also overseeing the general maintenance of the properties, ensuring that all systems are in good working order, including air-conditioning, heating, plumbing, CCTV, AV/IT and alarms, and ensuring that all manuals and maintenance schedules are set up and followed. A driver with their own reliable transport is required for this role as you will be required to visit the Surrey property at least once per week (any work travel costs will be covered by the family).

Working days will generally be Monday to Friday, though flexibility will be required to work every third weekend (with weekdays off in lieu) and to deal promptly and efficiently with any issues that may arise, so out of hours availability will be required to ensure the smooth running of the family’s properties.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:• Scheduling work rotas for the household staff in Belgravia and Surrey, managing any staff issues that may arise• Liaising with the principals and the PA to stay abreast of the family’s schedule • Hands-on housekeeping to include cleaning, laundry, ironing and wardrobe management• Managing household expenses• Ad-hoc errand running• Ensuring that all entertainment/air-conditioning/heating/lighting and communications systems are working across all properties• Ensure the manuals are accurate and up to date; ensuring Health and Safety requirements are adhered to• Liaising with contractors and suppliers

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA• Prior relevant experience in a similar high-end household• Excellent eye for detail and the ability to provide training to household staff where needed• Familiar with air-con systems, CCTV, plumbing, alarms, boilers, AV equipment & internet• Brilliant interpersonal skills and fluent English language skills• Good financial acumen• Professional, hardworking & trustworthy• Trustworthy, reliable, and discreet• Knowledge of Health & Safety practices, risk management, and insurance policies• Proactive, adaptable, and able to work at a fast pace• Flexibility and willingness to travel between properties in London & Surrey• On-call availability• Excellent knowledge of London and well-connected• Confident driver with full, clean driver’s license and own reliable transport• Excellent checkable references
