Area Housing Manager

Westminster

Work with the Head of Housing to ensure the Housing Management Service operates efficiently and effectively to provide services to residents.

Be responsible for the operational management of housing services within a designated geographical area. You will lead a team of housing officers and support staff, ensuring high standards in tenant services, property maintenance, rent collection, and compliance with relevant legislation. You will act as a key contact for tenants and stakeholders, addressing concerns, resolving issues, and promoting community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, and support a team of housing officers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality housing services.

Ensure that properties within your area are managed in accordance with legal, regulatory, and company standards.

Monitor and manage rent collection, arrears, and voids, ensuring that targets are met.

Oversee property maintenance, repairs, and safety checks, working closely with contractors and the maintenance team.

Provide guidance and support to tenants, addressing their concerns and resolving issues promptly and effectively

Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, community organizations, and external partners.

Key Skills and Experience Required:

Significant and relevant experience of managing a Local Authority Housing Management service with expert knowledge of social housing legislation.

Demonstrated experience within a complex political and service environment with senior managers, and a wide range of other bodies, such a partner organisations, communities, public agencies and statutory bodies.

Advanced relationship and stakeholder management skills, skilled in written and verbal communication to influence and engage others effectively and flexible and demonstrated skills of working in partnership with.
