Macildowie is excited to partner with a leading client in recruiting for the position of Careers Development Manager. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to drive tailored career development interventions and professional skills programmes in London, for undergraduate and postgraduate international students.
The role is on a temporary, 6 months basis and will be remote, with occasional travel to the East Midlands and London. The role is paying between £21 - £22 per hour.
The Careers Development Manager will design and deliver innovative programmes, engage with employers and alumni, and collaborate with academic teams to enhance student employability. The role involves leadership, direct student support, and strategic engagement with internal and external stakeholders to meet students' career development needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver bespoke skills programmes to help students understand labour markets, articulate their strengths, and successfully pursue diverse career opportunities.
- Provide coaching and practical support for job applications, employer assessments, and career transitions.
- Collaborate with employers and sector associations to ensure training aligns with market needs.
- Lead the Career Development Service on campus, including managing a Career Development Officer and ensuring an effective open-door service for students.
- Coordinate events, workshops, and 1:1 appointments to deliver high-quality career support.
- Build relationships with employers and alumni to drive student engagement in projects, live briefs, and networking opportunities.
- Work with academic teams to integrate employability content into the curriculum.
What We're Looking For:
- Demonstrated experience in delivering career development support, ideally within higher education or similar sectors within London.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and guide teams.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders, including students, employers, and academic staff.
- Proficiency in managing events, resources, and innovative career programmes.
- An understanding of labour markets, employability trends, and the needs of international students.
