Kenny Recruit are working with a highly reputable retail company, to find a motivated, experienced and approachable Head of Human Resources, on a permanent basis. This role will immediately be part of the senior leadership team and look to grow into a Director role.

There are 4 main areas that you will need experience in:

  • Culture management and developing a people strategy
  • Employer Relations
  • Learning & Development for employees
  • Pay / performance appraisals

Following on from the above, the role is a mixture of generalist HR duties as well as being the main driver behind people & culture, you will need to help build and deliver the people strategy for this company's next chapter of growth. It is a really meaty role and one that will excite someone who likes to be busy and have ownership of a 360 degree role. Important to note that you will have an HR Administrator as part of your team.

You will need to be a strong self-starter and you will consistently look for continuous improvement and opportunities across your remit. You will develop and monitor the overall HR processes, systems, and procedures across the organisation, ensuring compliance and best practice. As an experienced Head of Human Resources, you will guide and support end-to-end HR including recruitment, on-boarding, performance management, ER, HR policies and admin processes. You will produce regular reports for the Senior Leadership Team and provide support through HR metrics. In addition to overseeing the HR function you will manage the outsourced payroll function, ensuring that all employee data is accurate and compliant, coordinate all office equipment/technology needs and negotiate with suppliers.

Pay: £70,000 - £85,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + future share options

Location: Central London (ideally 4 days in the office but would consider 3 for the right candidate)

Working hours: 9am-6pm

Responsibilities:

  • Continue to develop and implement a comprehensive HR strategy
  • Provide expert advice to senior management on all HR matters
  • Lead the development of HR policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process
  • Ownership of our monthly payroll process and the relationship with our third-party provider
  • Develop and implement effective talent management strategies
  • Oversee the performance management process
  • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture
  • Manage employee relations issues
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives
  • Oversee HR systems and processes, whilst championing technology
  • Manage the HR budget

The ideal candidate would be someone who is/has...

  • An autonomous self-starter, willing to operate on various levels and execute commitments in a timely manner.
  • Experience working as an HR generalist - you're used to high-volume and needing to prioritise.
  • An understanding of UK employment law & EU employment law (EU being beneficial).
  • Experience of managing visa sponsorship and knowledge of the associated processes.
  • A trusted advisor - you're a people person who is approachable and demonstrates integrity.
  • Experience working with a distributed workforce, including freelancers and employees across different locations.
  • CIPD qualified (level 5 or 7) with demonstrable CPD.
