We are working with a well-known Travel Association company based in Central London, who looking to bring in a proven Head of Membership / Partnership!

The role holder will be an enthusiastic, outgoing self-starter with strong leadership and strategy skills, excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, a commercial mindset, and the ability to work flexibly and prioritise effectively to deliver business objectives. The role requires significant, frequent travel around the UK and overseas.

The role:

To lead, develop and operationalise the new member recruitment, member engagement and retention strategy, through a planned and targeted approach, working with the Senior Leadership Team and colleagues across the company to deliver impactful results under the company Plan.

To line manage the team responsible for supporting the coordination and delivery of key member engagement and new member recruitment activities, to attract new travel businesses into membership and maximise member retention.

To act as an ambassador, representing the company at internal and external events in the UK and overseas.

Duties (but not limited to):

  • Manage the team responsible for member engagement and recruitment, completing regular 121 and Every Touch discussions with direct reports, providing timely and constructive feedback, identifying and providing opportunities for them to develop and continue adding value to the business, and ensuring they act in line with the company values and behaviours.
  • Lead, develop and operationalise the company strategy in respect of new member recruitment, member engagement and retention, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and other relevant colleagues across the organisation to ensure a coordinated conpay - wide approach.
  • Devising strategies for engagement with members of all types and levels across the organisation, to ensure members are aware of and maximise the benefits and services available to them.
  • Identifying, prioritising and pursuing opportunities to engage with prospective and existing members (e.g. through meetings, member visits, industry conferences and events).
  • Act as an ambassador for the company, representing the organisation at internal and external events in the UK and overseas. This often involves speaking on behalf of the company (e.g. through presentations, moderating, participating on panels), but provides key networking opportunities which should be leveraged to build and strengthen industry relationships and drive new member recruitment.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the company in the trade media, where required, working in conjunction with PR, Media and Communications colleagues to ensure appropriate positioning.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with industry representatives who provide support to company members (such as industry consultants, brokers and accountants), helping to promote the value of the company brand, drive new member recruitment and increase member retention.

  • Experience of developing and successfully delivering strategic initiatives with impactful business results
  • Strong leadership skills - able to lead, motivate and develop others, with a passion for service excellence
  • Strong stakeholder relationship management skills
  • Resilient character with emotional intelligence and a tactful, considered, professional approach to dealing with stakeholders and colleagues, able to understand and adapt to the needs of others while balancing these with the needs of the company.
  • Professionalism, discretion and integrity when dealing with sensitive or confidential matters
  • Commercial acumen and influencing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to effectively communicate with people at all levels
  • Excellent public-speaking and presentation skills
  • Strong IT skills (Advanced MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, CRM)
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills - able to analyse complex information and prepare concise insights for various audiences to inform decision-making and devise appropriate strategies

The package:
