Are you an experienced HR and Finance professional looking to make a significant impact within a prestigious academic institution? This role offers a unique blend of responsibilities, allowing you to leverage your expertise in both human resources and financial management while contributing to the strategic goals.

  • As a key member of the professional services team, the HR & Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing streamlined processes, fostering an inclusive culture of continuous improvement.
  • Engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including the Department Manager, Professional Services teams, HR and Finance teams, key academics, and external partners.
  • This role offers ample opportunities for professional development, including leading recruitment processes, managing financial planning and audits, and advising on HR policies and procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and communicate up-to-date HR policies and procedures.
  • Provide confidential guidance on all HR matters to senior leadership.
  • Oversee recruitment processes, staff induction, and onboarding.
  • Ensure compliance with visa and Right to Work regulations.
  • Act as the Inclusion Lead, advising on Equality and Diversity issues.


Finance Management:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for departmental financial issues.
  • Prepare and maintain financial reports, assist in budget planning, and monitor accounts.
  • Authorise financial transactions and ensure compliance with Financial Regulations.
  • Manage expense claims, credit card payments, and scholarship fee payments.


Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in HR and financial management within a complex organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, employment legislation, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in financial planning, budget management, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • A proactive and confident approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
