We are working with an established facilities company, and they are recruiting for a HR Manager to join the business.

Hybrid role - 3 days office and 2 days home, with flexibility to manage your own diary. Salary for this role is up to £57,000 plus an additional travel allowance of c£3000 which covers zones 1-4.

This role would be ideal for a seasoned HR Generalist with experience of leading teams and supporting a blue-collar client group. Candidates will need to have experience of supporting a client group of at least 1000 + employees, as this role oversees a team of 7 people supporting over 2800 employees across multiple sites.

Reporting into the Head of HR, the role will focus across operational areas of HR and will oversee and support across a high volume and wide range of ER cases. Key responsibilities and duties include;

  • Reporting into the Head of HR, leading a team of 7 people and supporting a client group of c2800 across multiple London based sites.
  • Oversee and manage HR operations for the business, including acting as a No2 to the Head of HR, and deputising in the role when needed
  • Attend monthly management meetings to provide the senior team with an overview of HR
  • Support and assist with strategic areas of HR and support on various HR projects and initiatives, including employee engagement, employee surveys and assisting with the implementation of a new HR system
  • Oversee and mentor the HR team, including day to day management, appraisals, probation meetings and training
  • Provide advice and guidance on complex ER cases and support the team with their caseload, including leading on more complex grievance, disciplinary and appeal Hearings
  • Build and maintain a positive environment through effective employee relation practices
  • Serve as an advisor, coach, and partner to the management team
  • Carry out redundancy, consultation, and performance meetings as well as support and lead on TUPE consultations.
  • Keep up to date with employment law and ensure that HR processors and policies are compliant.
  • Liaise with employee Union representatives on cases, ACAS, and legal team in regard to tribunal matters
  • Providing data/ reports on case numbers
  • Dealing with Ad hoc projects that may arise

For this role candidates will need to have proven HR experience at this level and ideally have exposure working in an industry that is predominantly a blue-collar client group. Ideally candidates will have union and TUPE experience.

Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate strong management experience and effective leadership skills, to ensure the development and smooth running of the team. Strong ER experience is essential, with the ability to lead and manage on complex ER cases and provide advice and guidance to senior managers.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues.
