HR ManagerTo be considered for this role, you will have experience in HR within a school or education environment.Salary: £51,080 - £56,383My client has an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and personable HR Manager to join their team on a one-year fixed term contract.  Working in a busy and friendly office, you will play a lead role in employee relations (ER) and deliver a high-quality HR service across the school.This varied role includes managing employee relations, supporting HR administration, assisting with recruitment, and advising staff on policies and procedures.You will be a highly organized and approachable individual with excellent interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work under pressure while using your own initiative. Ideally, candidates will have experience in HR within a school environment.Main Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and communicate HR policies in line with employment law and best practices.
  • Advise on and manage employee relations cases, including restructuring, disciplinary issues, grievances, sickness absence, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and employment law requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to manage payroll changes, pay awards, and pension queries.
  • Provide information to staff on benefits, Cycle to Work, and salary sacrifice schemes.
  • Oversee staff training and professional development.
  • Manage probation, appraisals, and the school’s online training platform.
  • Attend staff committees, including Health & Safety and line manager meetings.
  • Provide HR support to the school’s enterprise functions and international teams.
  • Support the HR & Recruitment Manager during busy recruitment periods.
The ideal candidate:
  • Educated to at least ‘O’ Level standard or equivalent with GCSE/O Level English & Maths grade C or above.
  • CIPD Level 5 or above (desirable).
  • Experience in HR within a school environment.
  • Proven experience in HR management and employee relations case work.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, policy, and procedure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Personal integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
