About the Role:

As a member of the Human Resources Directorate, you will contribute to the provision of a comprehensive and high-quality HR service to managers and staff across the Group. You will provide advice and guidance to managers that support the delivery of service plans and assist with the achievement of operational targets and objectives. Additionally, you will undertake project-based activities that are directly linked to the Group’s Strategic Plan, Risk Register, and HR Operational Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support managers in delivering high-quality services through effective HR management and development.
  • Assist managers with the resolution of staffing issues, providing appropriate advice and support.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory safeguarding guidance and good practice.
  • Handle grievances, disciplinaries, capability, and absence management.
  • Provide advice and guidance to staff on employment matters.
  • Advise managers on the Sickness Absence Policy and attend sickness case review meetings.
  • Undertake job evaluations and advise managers on outcomes.
  • Conduct induction sessions for new staff and coordinate arrangements.
  • Stay updated on changes in legislation and best practices.
  • Monitor and assess performance management cases and staff welfare.
  • Provide management information and maintain a case log.
  • Monitor HR function costs to ensure budget compliance.
  • Direct and support HR Advisors/Assistants to ensure high service standards.
  • Conduct exit interviews and report trends.
  • Provide training on relevant HR topics and initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in HR management and development.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism.
  • Experience in conducting job evaluations and managing performance cases.
