Strategic Category Manager (Professional Services) | London | £70,000 - £71,000 per annum | Perm | Hybrid (3 days per week in Office)

Client:

Castlefield Recruitment are currently working with a Public Sector Organisation in South London, to recruit a Strategic Category Manager.

A strong background in Public Sector procurement, with a track record of mentoring OR managing procurement teams is essential.

The role offers a hybrid working policy; with 3 days per week required on site for meetings in their South London office.

Role:

  • Provide category leadership and development to a team of 4 (2 Category Managers and 2 Deputy Category Managers)
  • Design and Implementation of tender processes, sourcing strategies and contracts to ensure that maximum quality and value for money is obtained
  • Carry out procurement for high value, detailed contracts and be able to develop appropriate evaluation methods and interpretation thereof. Carry out procurement for highly detailed high value contracts that require analysis, comparison and assessment
  • Strategically analyse data to identify areas of quality improvement, cost savings or process improvements. Produce strategic plans for areas of responsibility for sign off by key stakeholders.

Individual:

  • Experience of mentoring and managing staff members
  • Expert at managing multiple contracts with an ability to analyse data
  • Ideally suited to a candidate with experience and knowledge of public sector regulations
  • MCIPS qualified, or relevant experience
