Our client is a small but well known and respected consultancy based in central London. They are seeking a newly created Workforce Planning and Resource Manager role on a permanent hybrid basis.
Description
As the Workforce Planning and Resource Manager you will have a key role in enhancing how our client allocate work, manage capacity and utilisation tracking, support retention and progression of team members, and helping to provide operational excellence.This role involves working closely with project managers and team leads, where you will be responsible for determining resource requirements, coordinating resource allocation, and monitoring resource utilisation. You will develop and implement resource allocation strategies, ensuring that we align the right people with the right projects, taking into account project and client requirements, skills and experience of the consulting team, personal development plans and business plan objectives.
Responsibilities also include:
- Resource Management: plan, manage and oversee resource allocation to support delivery of our Business Plan ensuring that we are maximising the use of all company resources and addressing any emerging challenges or changes in project scope. Lead on the coordination of our associate pool and relationship with third party organisations providing surge capacity resource support
- Bid Management: Lead the effective co-ordination of bids, ensuring consistent qualification and that they align with the required commercial principles, risk mitigations and quality standards
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor, building strong relationships across the company to ensure an in-depth understanding of the business and their resource requirements and expectations
- Resource Reporting: Create and distribute regular data reports and management information on resource utilisation, availability, capacity management and attend weekly Directors' meeting to ensure resource considerations are informing business and organisational decision-making
- Process Improvement: Work closely with the Finance Director and lead initiatives to enhance resource management processes, including the adoption of new tools, methodologies, and best practices, continuously evaluate and refine resource management practices to align with the evolving needs of the business and clients
- Talent and Skill Development: Working with the Head of People and Talent to identify skills and competencies required and skills gaps for new and existing staff
- Budget and Financial Oversight: Work with the Finance Team to monitor and manage resource-related budgets, such as budget associated with external partners and associate use to deliver on project requirements
Profile
- Credible experience in resource management, within a consulting or project-based environment
- Demonstrable experience in managing resources for large-scale public sector or infrastructure projects is highly desirable
- Previous experience in a consultancy role would be beneficial
- Experienced in using appropriate software, resourcing tools and systems
