We are supporting a London based University with the recruitment of a Human Resources Advisor. The post holder will support the delivery of efficient, high quality, customer-focused HR services to managers and staff across Schools and Professional Services, in accordance with the University’s policies and procedures.

Hourly rate: £20.86 - £25.51

Length of contract: 2 months (with the possibility to extend)

Working hours: 35 hours per week

Location: Central London

Hybrid Working Pattern: 60% Office based/ 40% Working from home

Job Profile:

  • Provide high quality advice and guidance, and other generalist activities
  • Advise on maternity/adoption/paternity cases
  • Work with managers and others across HR to pro-actively manage absence
  • Manage the departure process for all staff
  • Advise managers on the interpretation and application of the relevant policy and procedures
  • Provide support as required in investigations and hearings
  • Liaise within the team, HR colleagues and Recruiting Managers to co-ordinate recruitment plans
  • Liaise with the Recruitment Administration Team to ensure activities are aligned
  • Provide support to the interview panels and selection procedures
  • Compose job adverts and liaise with the advertising agency as required
  • Work with others to ensure all pre-employment checks are carried out or requested
  • Lead on and support organisational development and culture change

Person Specification:

  • Experience of working in HR within the Higher Education sector is essential
  • Practical experience of employee relations, change and performance management
  • Practical experience of recruitment, selection techniques and full employee life cycle
  • Good stakeholder management skills, gained within a fast paced, delivery focused environment
