Aston Education is working with a large Ofsted Good 11-18 secondary school in Lewisham looking for an HR Advisor.

The role of HR Advisor is hugely important within the school. The individual will help bring to life their People Strategy by playing an instrumental role in providing generalist HR support to the Principal, and their senior leadership teams.  

You have experience of providing advice on employee relations, terms and conditions and contract issues. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of recruitment, onboarding, pre-employment checks, payroll administration, as well as maintaining and updating the College's Single Central Record and HR systems.

You'll have:

  • CIPD qualification (Level 3 or above) or relevant Degree
  • Experience of providing generalist HR advice and support on HR policies/procedures, preferably in a school
  • Experience of advising senior managers on employment law issues, including disciplinary, absence management, grievances and capability procedures
  • Up to date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice
  • A strong understanding of equality of opportunity and diversity of issues
  • Experience working across a partnership of schools or across schools within a Multi Academy Trust setting
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and written
