Your New Role

The new HR Business Partner, Group will be responsible for delivering proactive, commercial, and effective HR partnering to enable the strategic priorities of Hays. This role supports several of our Group functions, for example Technology, Group Finance, Group Marketing, Group People, Company Secretariat & Legal, and Group Product, Innovation & Data.

Reporting into the Head of HR. Group you will act as a thinking partner, key advisor and collaborator to these senior management teams, many of which are in different phases of evolution and change.

Business Relationships & Strategic People Planning

  • Build and maintain key business relationships with key stakeholders and the wider People team
  • Understand the business challenges, opportunities and context of the areas you support to ensure that you are a valued thinking partner, developing fit for purpose people plans and delivering relevant advice and guidance
  • Provide advice and guidance to the leaders on employment matters, influencing management around the people agenda to maximise performance
  • Understand and input into the future organisation design for business functions, providing information and data to support OD decisions and lead the planning and delivery of associated people changes
  • Act as a change agent by supporting organisational changes such as restructuring, or process improvements
  • Help mitigate resistance to change and facilitate smooth transitions by implementing effective change management strategies.
  • Support the delivery of fit for purpose onboarding and induction to colleagues in Group teams
  • Review exit data to identify areas for improvement where appropriate
  • Collaborate with business to embed our talent strategies, succession plans, and workforce planning to ensure the right talent is in place to meet current and future business needs

Culture

  • Work with your stakeholders to drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, morale, and satisfaction within the business functions.
  • Partner with business leaders to create a positive work environment and foster a culture of inclusion, diversity, belonging and wellbeing, providing active support and challenge as well as practical initiatives
  • Support annual employee engagement process

Provision of Advice and Guidance/Employee Relations

  • Provide professional advice and coaching support in areas of people management and employment in line with appropriate HR policies and processes.
  • Work with the wider People teams to ensure consistency in the management/resolution of employee relations issues
  • End to end ownership of non-complex ER cases in business areas

Knowledge, qualifications and experience

  • Experience operating as a HR business partner to senior stakeholders, ideally in a federated global organisation going through organisation change around processes, technology and people
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, able to communicate and partner effectively with a variety of stakeholders in different functions
  • Good commercial acumen, leadership and transformational skills
  • Experience of delivery of Organisation Design change and other people-impacting change projects
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • An up-to-date and working knowledge of employment legislation, ideally with some knowledge of jurisdictions outside of the UK.
  • Pragmatic: able to deliver HR guidance in a fast paced, complex environment, and communicates clearly and openly to win support.
  • Business focused; able to deliver commercial solutions which also fit HR best practice requirements and demonstrate excellent operational planning skills
  • CIPD qualified desirable but not essential
