A charitable organisation is seeking a HR Officer on a 12 month fixed term contract. This role is predominantly remote with occasional travel to West London. Full time, Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week. You will be supporting the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems, providing guidance to staff and line managers on employee relations matters and supporting them through their employment journey.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
- Provide counselling on policies and procedures using Rradar support as required
- Be actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting ads and managing the hiring process when required
- Support the creation and implementation of effective onboarding
- Develop training and development programs
- Assist in performance management processes
- Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues
- Maintain employee records on the HRIS ensuring all staff documentation is accurate and up to date
Skills & experience:
- Proven experience as a HR Officer, Administrator or other HR position
- Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development etc.)
- Understanding of UK employment law and disciplinary procedures
- Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of HRMS is a plus
- Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude
- Strong ethics and reliability
- BSc/BA in business administration, social studies or relevant field; further training will be a plus
- HR Credentials (ideally CIPD Level 3 or above)
- Ability to manage own workload
- Ability to multiple tasks and prioritise work
- Good verbal and written communicator
- Able to communicate with the staff, clients and visitors in a calm and orderly way
- Able to work well within a team and engage with staff
- Able to be organised and meet deadlines
