Reed HR are working alongside a large Public Sector Organisation based in Central London who are recruiting for an experienced HR Officer on a temporary basis for initially 6 months.Â
This role is hybrid, so travel into the office will be expected.Â
Job purpose
1. To provide an effective, high quality HR operational service across the range of human resources activities and functions which supports the aims and objectives of the Business
2. Support the HR Business Partner, Resourcing and HR Operations Manager and HR Advisors in the development and delivery of new interventions in alignment with the People Strategy of the Organisation.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Work as part of the HR and OD team to support managers and staff across a range of operational HR & OD activity. Act as the first point of contact for managers and staff within the business; responding to queries and requests for information and support.
2. Assist the Resourcing and HR Operations Manager in successful HR systems implementation and related processes, leading on specific discrete elements, development and maintenance, when required.
3. Co-ordinate recruitment campaigns from advert to new starter on-boarding process using the online applicant tracking system. Support and advise hiring managers and candidates through each stage of the process, while ensuring diversity and inclusion is at the centre of the recruitment process.
4. Review and action changes to terms and conditions of employment and monthly payroll updates, including updating information on the HR system, submitting notifications to the payroll team and producing written confirmation to individuals.
5. Manage the vetting process for new starters, as well as renewals for current staff. Liaise with the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) Vetting Unit to ensure clearance is granted within the agreed service timeframe.
6. Coordinate learning and development activity including liaison with providers, administering online or in person events, developing communications and reporting on attendance and evaluation.
7. Run varying workforce reports both standard and bespoke to enable effective analysis and support HR team in partnering with the business and devising relevant interventions.
8. Provide first line advice on the application of HR policy, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management and other employment issues, attend meetings, and take minutes and maintain records as required.
9. Maintain and support all relevant HR manual systems and business administration activities, including financial processes and tracking as required.
10. Support HR projects as required in accordance with the People Strategy programme.
