Working at SH:24

First off, thank you for considering a role with us!

SH:24 is a pioneering online sexual and reproductive health service, delivered in partnership with the NHS. We make it easy for people to self-manage their sexual and reproductive health online by providing free STI test kits, contraception & treatment, information and advice - 24 hours a day. We’ve won a host of awards and industry recognition for what we do, and we’re happy to say that our reach and services offered are expanding every day.

We are not-for-profit and passionate about delivering discreet, convenient and clinically safe sexual health services. Our vision is to make it easier and faster for people to access sexual and reproductive health services, no matter where they live; we’ve been doing it since 2013. We’re also proud of our community and the people who work for us; those who have helped us shape a company that puts our users at the heart of everything we do by designing services that are easy to use, easy to access and easy to understand by all that need them.

The Role

We are looking for someone with an interest in public health, sexual and reproductive health and contract management to work in our Growth & Support team. This role will support day to day contract management of our existing statutory services and programmes of work.

This role is a fixed term contract for 6 months, although there is a possibility that this will be extended.

You will be working alongside our Service & Contract Manager, and will be responsible for managing the delivery and reporting of SH:24 services within specific local authorities. You will work closely in partnership with a range of organisations who commission our services, including the NHS, local authorities, charities and other community interest companies.  You will be responsible for building and maintaining partner relationships, monitoring and evaluating the delivery of services, developing the local SH:24 service offer in response to emergent opportunities or needs, and ensuring  that contracts can successfully meet the challenges of dynamic budgets.

SH:24 has already had a dramatic impact within the UK and internationally, with online sexual health services now delivered as standard across the UK, and SH:24 delivering over half a million STI tests every year.

We are looking for someone who shares our vision for a world where everyone has access to sexual and reproductive health services, and with the drive, energy, and tenacity to turn our plans into reality.

What We Need From You

At the heart of it we’re looking for someone with an interest in services/contract management preferably within public health or the third sector.  Sexual healthcare experience is desirable but not essential.

You’ll be working on the management of our existing digital sexual health services, supporting our partners and stakeholders ensuring that contracts remain on target and provide opportunities for growth.

You’ll work alongside SH:24’s Data Analysis team to undertake bespoke reporting and analysis of activity to better inform local delivery, and with the service development teams to prioritise the upcoming development roadmap and effectively meet local customer and user needs.

You’ll be a self-starter, thriving in an environment where every member of the team is valued for their leadership, positivity and courage, and comfortable in working as a part of cross-functional teams and not working in your own silo.

You will have a willingness to learn from those around you with experience, but also be motivated to add creativity to your role to identify optimisations and improvements.

As the outward face of SH:24 for multiple stakeholders, you will have strong people skills, combining confidence and sensitivity to customer needs. You’ll have a strong eye for detail and a desire to deliver excellent results.

The role will include the following activities:

  • Managing contract activity and budgets
  • Managing and nurturing relationships with customers and partners from NHS Trusts, CICs, Local Authorities and CCGs
  • Monthly performance reporting and financial analysis
  • Forecasting activity and monitoring spend of existing partners
  • Supporting the onboarding of new services, including establishing referral pathways and providing training for clinicians and commissioners on using SH:24 systems
  • Communicating service development requests internally and managing partner/commissioner expectations.
  • Working alongside our Data Analyst to undertake analysis of activity and bespoke reporting
  • Supporting the Growth and Support Team as required on a range of activities, including procurement processes, market engagement and testing, pre- qualification questionnaires and invitations to tender.

We’re looking for someone with the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

Skills

  • Strong communicator
  • Able to interpret, use and present data
  • Key stakeholder management
  • Budget oversight and financial monitoring
  • Strong presentation & writing skills
  • Report writing and simple data manipulation
  • Able to independently attend and represent the organisation at key stakeholder meetings

Knowledge and Experience

  • Administrative and organisational experience
  • An understanding of sexual health and contraception, or other health and social care services is preferable

We expect you to have strong written and oral presentation and communication skills, as well as data organisation (MS Excel) skills.

Finally, and most importantly, you will love to learn, share knowledge and help others. The team at SH:24 is great because we provide the support to each other for everyone to perform well.

What You’ll Get From us

We are always interested in upskilling our employees, and are flexible in ways to do it: be it courses, books, onsite or remote learning with a colleague - whatever suits the situation best. If there is a particular skill or product you would like to work on and improve, we’ll always try to accommodate you.

We’re also keen to allow the team to work in the way they want - including hybrid working remotely or from the office, so if there is anything you need, don’t be afraid to ask!

As well as remuneration in the region of £32-42k depending on experience, SH:24 provides a number of other benefits, including 25 days of annual holiday (in addition to the days between Christmas and New Year), truly flexible working, excellent pension contributions and life insurance.

We want to increase representation of currently under-represented groups to make SH:24 more diverse.

Our aim is to build an inclusive team, where everyone is able to be themselves at work and feel supported, empowered, valued, respected, fairly treated and able to achieve their full potential.

As an inclusive employer we will not tolerate discrimination.

The SH:24 interview process comprises of three main sections:

  1. A short writing and data analysis exercise, to be submitted in advance of the interview.
  2. A short role-play scenario based on a hypothetical scenario involving an interaction with a stakeholder (which will be provided ahead of the interview).
  3. Regular interview questions about yourself, your knowledge and experience of service and contract management (within health/social care services) health services.
