Overview: We're working with a long-established, respected Accountancy firm based in Central London that is looking to recruit an experienced and proactive Audit and Accounts Manager.This is a key leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of audit and accounts work, thrives in a client-facing environment, and is looking for clear career progression in a supportive firm.

 

The Role: As Audit and Accounts Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, leading audits from planning through to completion, overseeing statutory accounts preparation, and supervising a team of seniors and juniors. You’ll work closely with the partners and play a vital role in client relationship management, quality control, and staff development.

 

Key Responsibilities: Manage a varied portfolio of audit and accounts clients

 

Lead audits from planning to completion in line with auditing standards

 

Review financial statements prepared under FRS 102 and UK GAAP

 

Oversee and review corporation tax computations and VAT returns

 

Act as a key point of contact for client queries and relationship management

 

Supervise and mentor audit and accounts staff, supporting their technical and professional development

 

Monitor job budgets, workflow, and WIP

 

Identify opportunities for added-value services and liaise with partners on advisory work

 

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal processes

 

Requirements: ACA or ACCA qualified

 

At least 5 years’ experience in practice, including significant audit exposure

 

Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting and auditing standards

 

Previous experience managing staff and reviewing work

 

Comfortable leading client meetings and managing expectations

 

Well-organised with excellent communication and problem-solving skills

 

Proficient with cloud-based and audit software (e.g. CaseWare, CCH, Xero)
