About the Role:
I am recruiting for an experienced Tekla Draughtsman to join a leading company specialising in structural and architectural steelwork. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to take ownership of complex steel design projects from initial concept through to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed fabrication drawings, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using Tekla Structures
- Develop accurate 3D models for both structural and architectural steelwork projects
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to ensure designs meet project specifications
- Prepare detailed drawings for design approval and assist in client reviews as required
- Produce cutting lists, material take-offs, and assembly drawings for the fabrication workshop
- Identify and resolve any potential design issues to maintain accuracy and project efficiency
- Maintain accurate documentation and drawing revisions throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure all work adheres to industry standards, client specifications, and company procedures
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience as a Draughtsman in the steel industry
- Expert proficiency in Tekla Structures software
- Strong knowledge of both structural and architectural steelwork
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality drawings
- Effective communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
Desirable:
- Experience with other drafting tools such as AutoCAD
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Problem-solving skills and proactive approach to design challenges
