Operational Resilience ManagerLocation: England (Hybrid - with Travel)Package: £Negotiable + BenefitsWe're currently looking to strengthen our team further with an Operational Resilience Manager to take the lead on deploying, embedding and running our Operational Resilience frameworks.This role is critical to ensure we embed framework and maintain strong knowledge of the Operational Resilience regulations. You'll have proven experience in operational management, oversight and delivery.

You'll be able to quickly build a high level of credibility and strong working relationships across the business at all levels.

The Operational Resilience Manager is also responsible for developing and implementing resilience strategies that will enable the organisation to continue its operations in the face of potential disruptions.The day to day:

  • Assist and where required lead on Developing, Designing and implementing the operational resilience framework, policies, and strategies to identify, assess and mitigate risks across the Retail Division
  • Responsible for the maintaining and maturing of the organisation's Operational Resilience policy, framework and strategy across the division in line with regulatory and business expectations.
  • Support the Important Business Service owners to ensure ongoing robust mapping, tracking, MI, and board reporting.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to conduct risk assessments, business impact analysis, and scenario planning.
  • Manage the annual scenario testing of the important business services to test whether each service can remain within its impact tolerances, identifying learnings and vulnerabilities.
  • Development of annual resilience plans, making sure they remain fit for purpose.
  • Oversee the preparation of ongoing operational resilience MI and reporting into all relevant governance forums.
  • Lead on reporting of annual self-assessment to the Brown & Brown Board.
  • Report, manage and where required, escalate identified resilience risks, communicating across the business, translating requirements into business language, and positively influencing outcomes.

Technical excellence

  • Drive the embedding of key Operational Resilience controls, engaging widely to ensure resilience consideration is integrated into the Retail division culture, day to day processes and decision making.
  • Provide direction on the production of the Operational Resilience Annual Review with the Important Business Service (IBS) owners.
  • Execute various types of internal (i.e. Physical Testing, Desktop testing) and market wide testing with IBS areas (and other relevant stakeholder groups), to test the ability of IBSs to remain within their set impact tolerances and identify vulnerabilities to be addressed.
  • Manage and track open operational resilience vulnerabilities, including chairing remediation working group.
  • Provide guidance to business and function stakeholders, from an Operational Resilience perspective, on the proposed designs of new or changing products, processes and IT services, providing feedback and challenge.
  • Acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME), establishing strong relationships with business and functional leads.
  • Ongoing impact assessment of BAU and change activities on operational resilience IBS'.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to incorporate operational resilience testing into existing groupwide testing such as BCP, IT Disaster Recovery etc.

About you:

  • Strong knowledge of the UK regulatory environment and frameworks. Experience of working in Operational Resilience roles within UK regulated financial services firms.
  • Ability to navigate problem areas and define solutions.
  • Proven ability to understand complex end to end process including technology, servicing and customer impacts.
  • Exceptional project management leadership skills
  • Strong and proven focus on the customer and the overall experience to ensure we create good customer outcomes.
  • Flexibility to quickly adapt to a dynamic and changing environment. Ability to re-focus according to business wide strategic priorities
  • Ability to influence others and move towards a common vision or goal.
