Working with the IT Partner and sitting primarily with the IT Team, you will become part of a fun group who work hard but also understand that the working environment should contain some fun. Role Overview

We have an opportunity for an experienced IT professional to join our team based in our London office as a Business Intelligence Analyst.

Reporting directly to the IT Partner and working with the wider firm/partners, the successful candidate should have experience in using the Microsoft Power Platform to provide the business with key data pulled from their existing systems.

The role is split into three core areas:-

• Business analyst, using Power BI and a variety of databases (mostly SQL, but also some cloud), to extract data and present it in dashboard for the departments of the firm.

• Microsoft Power Platform Expert - having an understanding and experience of using Microsoft’s Power Platform to deliver solutions and automations to departments of the firm.

• Microsoft SharePoint Expert/Administrator - having experience in managing a SharePoint environment including design and user access permissions.

This will be a varied role and will involve the successful candidate being good at working with non-technical people and translating their needs into powerful reports and solutions.

Job Description

Duties will include:

• Liaising with our heads of department to ascertain reporting requirements for their teams• Creating data views using SQL (or cloud data sources) to facilitate reporting• Working with Power BI to create reports and dashboards for our end users.• Amending and improving existing SQL and Power BI reports/dashboard• Using the Power Platform to create bespoke solutions to address user or departmental challenges• Creating SharePoint sites and assisting users in administering them• Managing and updating existing SharePoint sites• Managing permissions on SharePoint• Understanding a multi-tenanted Microsoft environment and being able to manage access to resources based on user location• Database Admin, using the same tools you use to provide data to our end users to ensure our internal databases are regularly checked and any incorrect data is removed.• Maintaining a good overall knowledge about Microsoft’s Power Platform and any new advancements

Training:

• Where possible, overview training will be provided on databases in use within the firm which you will be accessing to extract data• We offer MS training in new technology areas and also offer MS qualifications via third party exam centres

Working arrangements

The working week: 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday) to be worked from 9.30AM to 5.30PM with occasionally some flexibility of hours to meet specific work demands, you will be office based to begin with (during probation) but able to follow our standard three days office, two days home once probation has completed.

Location: Your principal work base is our London Office however there may be a requirement to meet with heads of departments in Nottingham, whilst generally this can be done via Teams, initial meetings tend to work better in person.

• Ideal candidate should be as comfortable discussing a business process with one of our senior team members as they are with automating that process using Microsoft technology• You should be a problem solver, someone who strives to find the right solution for any challenge• You should have enough experience of working with Microsoft products, especially the Power Platform and SharePoint to enable you to engineer solutions using MS tech• Whilst experience of accountancy is not essential, you must have an understanding of how a business generally works and previous experience of creating reports showing data commonly held by businesses (financial data, holiday data, etc)• You should have a full understanding of how relational databases• You should have experience of working with databases set up by others where there is no data dictionary to explain what each table does• You must be willing to work with our junior team members and share knowledge with them as part of their development

Experience/Skills Desirable

Knowledge & Experience • Experience of working in an accountancy practice would be an advantage• Experience of CCH’s Central database would be a distinct advantage• Experience of data cleansing/database control would be advantageous
