Location: London
Base Location: Flexible within Southern England, with a designated 'home' base at one of the offices or depots in the region.
Salary: £47,600 - £61,600 + car/car allowance + performance-related bonus + comprehensive benefits package.

About the Role:

My client is currently seeking a Commercial Manager to join their growing team, covering the South of England. This is an exciting time to be part of their company as they explore new markets, support the decarbonisation of transport, and accelerate efforts towards Net Zero.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Management: Draft, negotiate, vet, and finalise commercial contracts, ensuring a thorough review of risks. Record findings in commercial reports and summaries to enhance awareness of contractual obligations and risk management.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with sales and project delivery teams to meet customer needs, manage delivery risks, and secure the best commercial outcomes.
  • Post-Contract Support: Manage post-contract activities on high-profile, complex projects, ensuring both upstream and downstream obligations are fulfilled.
  • Project Reporting: Ensure that project reports accurately reflect obligations, risks, liabilities, costs, future projections, variations, claims, and profitability.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • A relevant professional qualification (LLB, MRICS, BSc QS, etc.) and solid knowledge of construction law, with experience in NEC or JCT contract frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial or contract management roles within the Construction or Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) industries.
  • Strong understanding of the energy industry, with commercial awareness of emerging energy technologies and solutions.
  • A track record of managing contractual obligations effectively to secure optimal outcomes.
  • Familiarity with Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) and M&E plant is a plus.
