DevOps Engineer
Location: London / Hybrid - Ideally twice a month onsite
Salary: 75,000 - 90,000 per annum
Our client is currently looking for a DevOps Engineer to join then after going through a period of significant growth, you will be joining to help drive the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of their software platforms.
As a DevOps Engineer, you will help design, build, maintain, and improve the infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and observability frameworks that power services. Working closely with the different teams, you'll ensure that the applications are not only deployed seamlessly but also consistently meet the standards for performance, reliability, and security.
We are looking for someone who is hands-on with AWS, leveraging CDK for infrastructure-as-code, ideally hope experience across a range of technologies and languages including Go, PHP, and TypeScript-based services deployed on Lambda, Kubernetes, and other AWS services. You will have the autonomy to implement best practices, while still being part of a supportive and knowledgeable team environment.
Day to Day activities will include:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure using AWS services and CDK (TypeScript).
- Supporting and improving CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid, safe, and consistent deployments.
- Working closely with the product engineering teams to integrate DevOps best practices into the development lifecycle, ensuring short feedback loops and high-quality releases.
- Monitoring and logging system health, performance, and reliability, implementing improvements where needed.
- Ensuring that infrastructure and deployments adhere to best practices and industry standards (e.g. AWS Well-Architected) with a keen eye towards maintainability and security.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (data, design, operations) to optimize systems and deliver value to both internal and external customers.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, infrastructure-as-code patterns, and standardized deployment frameworks.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues in development, testing, and production environments, ensuring uptime and resilience.
Skills and Experiences we are looking for:
- Brings strong AWS experience, with expertise in AWS CDK.
- Has experience working in environments that deploy Go, PHP, and TypeScript-based services on Lambda, Kubernetes, and related cloud infrastructure.
- Has a keen eye for developer needs, striving to remove bottlenecks and friction in the development and deployment processes.
- Is comfortable working independently as a senior-level individual contributor, while still thriving in a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Displays strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
