**DevOps Engineer** (Contract)
Duration: 6 Months (Possibility for extension)
Location: London/Hybrid (2 - 3 days in office)
Rate: A highly competitive Umbrella day rate is available for suitable candidates
Position Overview
As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and supporting our product. You will be instrumental in adopting best practises for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) while improving the speed and resiliency of our delivery processes. Collaborating closely with diverse teams across the business, you will contribute to the product vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and automate our AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
- Leverage containerisation technologies such as OCP and EKS.
- Set up, build, and manage CI/CD tools including CloudBees Jenkins and Harness.
- Provide technical support and consultation to development teams.
- Understand team objectives, ensuring alignment with Sprint and Programme Increment (PI) goals.
- Actively participate in code reviews, retrospectives, and demos.
- Develop and execute project plans, budgets, and schedules, documenting work and results.
- Deliver informative and decision-seeking presentations to both technical and business audiences.
- Execute additional related duties as assigned.
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
- Strong expertise in Kubernetes (K8s) and Terraform.
- Proven experience in AWS infrastructure management and automation.
- Proficiency in one or more coding or scripting languages (Python, Bash, Go).
- Familiarity with Helm and Linux system fundamentals.
- Experience in CI/CD automation and deployment.
- Knowledge of monitoring, alerting, and logging practises.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Relevant certifications in Cloud, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), or Containerized Applications are a plus.
- Experience with RDS and Kafka is optional but desirable.
