**Senior Application Consultant** (Contract)

Duration: 12 Months (Possibility for extension)

Location: London/Hybrid (3 days in office)

Rate: A highly competitive Umbrella day rate is available for suitable candidates

Role Profile

We are looking for a Senior Application Consultant to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in driving architectural excellence and fostering collaboration across various teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively engage in all squad ceremonies, including elaboration, estimation, prioritisation, and implementation of work.
  • Re-evaluate existing solutions, applying architectural guidance and best practises to propose innovative solutions.
  • Develop and maintain the architectural and technical debt backlog and roadmap for our capabilities.
  • Align architectural guidance with technology and business priorities, ensuring practical implementation.
  • Collaborate with other squads to understand architectural direction and integrate it into squad plans, while identifying and resolving roadblocks.
  • Interact with business and technology teams at all levels to facilitate successful implementation of work.
  • Serve as an advisor and guide for the Capability Owner and squad members.
  • Promote the adoption of design and engineering patterns and best practises within the squad.
  • Participate in system maintenance and infrastructure management to ensure optimal performance.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Strong understanding of cloud concepts, ideally certified in Microsoft AZ-900.
  • Proficiency in Linux, Oracle Database, and modern software development tools.
  • A robust quality and security mindset, ensuring adherence to best practises.
  • Confidence in executing large-scale, cross-functional, and technically challenging projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of management.
  • Background in Financial Services is essential, preferably within asset servicing roles such as Transfer Agency.
  • Proven experience in a SAFe Agile or similar agile environment.
  • Familiarity with public cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong software engineering experience in a modern development environment, including test and process automation.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux, MS SQL Server, Oracle, and Java is highly desirable.
