We are recruiting for our client, who is seeking an experienced and proactive IT Support Manager to lead the delivery of IT services at their academy based in London. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of both educational and administrative systems by providing robust technological support and driving continuous improvements.

This is a permanent full-time position.

Salary is up to £45,000 + Benefits DOE.

Key Responsibilities

IT Services Leadership:

  • Manage and lead the local delivery of IT services, ensuring alignment with academy objectives.
  • Collaborate with the IT Service Manager to oversee and improve IT systems and processes.
  • Provide second-line support for complex IT issues, performing hardware diagnostics and coordinating with third-party providers when necessary.

IT Operations:

  • Manage IT hardware and software resources, maintaining accurate asset registers.
  • Monitor system security, including anti-virus and anti-malware provisions.
  • Support network components and handle server installations and network operating system upgrades.
  • Administer internet filtering systems and manage remote access.

Collaboration and Training:

  • Develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide training and support to staff, students, and visitors as required.

Essential Requirements

  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (e.g., IP addressing, DNS, DHCP) and Windows Server operating systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience managing IT within an educational environment.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes.
  • Experience with virtualisation, mobile device management, and cloud-based services (e.g., SaaS, PaaS, IaaS).
