Back to searchWe are looking for an engineer experienced in Technical Assurance within client organisations. The purpose is to assess and scrutinise contractors and suppliers on the largest infrastructure project in the UK, who are self assuring the work. You will be exploring their Technical Assurance activities, and those of others within the client organisation. You will explore how the organisations are complying with the technical requirements, and looking at the evidence provided, doing both deep data dives and slicing examples. You will be building confidence in the technical assurance of this mega project.
You will be an expert in technical assurance, rather than Quality Management, and whilst you will come from an engineering background, you cannot be a subject expert in everything. Instead you will work with subject matter experts that are checking that the criteria is correct. This role is focussed on policing and ensuring that the technical assurance carried out by others is genuine and valid.
There is a large team of technical assurance managers, and you will work with various parts of the project over the years, exploring a wide range of engineering sectors, so you could come from civil engineering, structrural engineering, Track, Signalling. Power, M & E, and may have undertaken roles within Requirement engineering or integration engineering.
At first the need is within some of the civil and construction mega projects, but over time there will be a shift to system engineering of railway systems. Thus a systems engineer from the world of railways, aerospace or nuclear etc would be encouraged.
