Our Client is seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager. This role is pivotal in driving the strategic and operational goals of a leading non-profit organisation within the UK insurance market. The successful candidate will support the COO and Executive team in executing the Association's business plan, focusing on growing and retaining membership, enhancing technical knowledge, and improving professional standards. This position involves developing engaging technical content, curating a comprehensive technical library, and managing industry relationships to provide valuable resources for members. Additionally, you will act as a regulatory expert, offering guidance on compliance and regulatory matters, while ensuring members receive cutting-edge support and insights into the evolving insurance landscape. Purpose of the Role

  • Strategic Support: Assist the COO and Executive team in implementing the Association's strategy and business plan on schedule, supporting overall operational objectives.
  • Membership Growth and Retention: Actively support initiatives to increase and maintain membership across all tiers, ensuring a strong and engaged community.
  • Standards and Knowledge Development: Develop a clear strategy to enhance technical knowledge and professional standards within the community.
  • Content Development: Curate and develop technical content for the Association's Program of Learning & Insight, forums, committees, and events, ensuring material is relevant and accessible.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage proactively with governing bodies and industry associations, crafting individual engagement and content plans to drive member value.
  • Technical Library and MI Suite: Build and maintain a comprehensive technical library and Management Information (MI) reporting suite, providing resources that support members and inform the Executive team.
  • Technical & Regulatory Member Support: Serve as a regulatory and technical resource for members, providing guidance on compliance and regulatory issues.

Main Tasks

  • Industry Engagement: Act as a liaison with industry governing bodies and associations to monitor regulatory and market trends impacting members, developing activity plans to enhance membership value.
  • Technical Collateral and Events: Collaborate with colleagues to identify and create resources, events, and collateral that address critical technical and regulatory topics for members.
  • Technical Content Library: Develop and maintain an accessible library of technical resources, including templates, wordings, and contracts relevant to the industry.
  • Regulatory Contributions: Liaise with regulatory bodies and associations to expand the technical library with relevant materials.
  • Member Support: Provide direct technical and regulatory support to members as required, enhancing their understanding of compliance obligations.
  • Market Mapping and Review: Regularly map the insurer community across the UK, ROI, and Gibraltar, with a focus on technical advancements and regulatory changes.
  • Compliance Partner Management: Oversee the relationship with the Association's Compliance Partner to ensure alignment, deliver on expectations, and fulfil contractual commitments.
  • Research Library Creation: Develop a research library for internal and external use, providing valuable insights into the sector.
  • MI Reporting Suite: Create and maintain a Management Information (MI) suite for both internal and external purposes, supporting the promotion of the Association and its members.
  • Membership Proposition Improvement: Collaborate with the Executive team to continually enhance membership offerings through technical input and contributions.
  • Website Technical Support Section: Establish and manage a Technical Support section on the Association's website, ensuring members have access to up-to-date technical resources.
  • MGA Technical Catalogue Implementation: Identify and roll out new MGA technical catalogues tailored for MGA Assess and ROI members.
  • External Asset Development: Provide technical input for all association communications and external assets to ensure consistency and relevance.
