Technical Support Manager - SaaS - Web Scraping and Data Pipelines - International Organisation - Remote working role (to be located in a time zone between UTC to UTC+4) - Highly competitive salary

We’re on the hunt for a hands-on, experienced tech team leader to manage a group of highly skilled engineers responsible for maintaining, debugging and optimising their tech infrastructure.

In this hands-on role you will manage and mentor the team, whilst also handling complex technical challenges yourself. The support team is the backbone of the tech operations and is required to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information through their systems.

The team of technical experts tackle complex challenges related to web scraping, data extraction and processing, so we’re looking for a technical leader who will be able to mentor engineers, review code and improve team workflows; and work closely with CS, engineering and data teams to resolve technical challenges.

Key responsibilities as the SaaS Tech Support Manager will include:

  • Leading and managing the core support team
  • Diagnosing and resolving issues in scraping scripts, data pipelines and internal infrastructure
  • Analysing and overcoming anti-bot countermeasures
  • Performing website analysis
  • Optimising and enhancing web scraping scripts in Python
  • Monitoring and maintaining data pipelines
  • Understanding internal ETL processes, troubleshooting data flow issues and implementing fixes across different pipeline stages
  • Ensuring high quality data
  • Establishing best practices in scraping efficiency, debugging strategies and data processing workflows
  • Providing expert guidance on anti-bot mechanisms, network debugging and web scraping strategies

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience leading technical engineers / teams
  • Technical authority / expert on web scraping strategies, network/system debugging and/or anti-bot mechanisms/countermeasures
  • Ability to mentor engineers, review code and improve team workflows
  • Strong knowledge of Python and relevant libraries (Scrapy, Spash, Puppeteer, Requests, JSON, lxml, re, Pandas)
  • Experience with headless browsers, user-agent spoofing, CAPTCHA solving and rotating proxies
  • Understanding of ETL pipelines, data normalisation and data processing workflows
  • Strong familiarity with HTTP methods, web networking, API testing and debugging tools
  • Experience working with Linux command line for debugging and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and experience handling large-scale data
  • Coding and development knowledge
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar
  • Experience with JavaScript is advantageous
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Fluent English required (second European language is beneficial)
