2nd Line Support Engineer - Fully onsite

Join a dedicated charitable organisation in London as a 2nd Line Support Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in supporting and maintaining their IT infrastructure to ensure smooth, reliable operations. This is a permanent position offering the opportunity to work in a meaningful environment, where your technical skills will directly contribute to the success of our mission.

This role requires a full UK driving license.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure, maintain, and monitor existing infrastructure to ensure it is functioning optimally.
  • Provide support for test and production servers, including performing after-hours maintenance when required.
  • Work with vendors to procure necessary equipment and software, ensuring all budgetary and audit controls are met.
  • Offer technical and procedural guidance for network server implementation, collaborating with internal users, developers, and other technical staff.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system monitoring, reporting, and ensuring the effectiveness of the corporate backup and disaster recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with operations, third-party vendors, and service providers to maintain WAN, server, hardware/software, and other administrative aspects of the IT environment.
  • Ensure timely hardware and network upgrades, including new configurations as needed.
  • Document technical requirements, develop project plans, and oversee change control processes. Participate in design sessions, architectural reviews, and provide technical advice when necessary.
  • Conduct fault assessments on system issues, implementing long-term, sustainable solutions rather than quick fixes.
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, and professional development to align your work with organisational goals, providing valuable input using your technical expertise.
  • Collaborate with Services and Events teams to ensure IT services, including CCTV, are available and properly configured across all locations.
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator (Az-104)
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert (desirable)
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (desirable)
  • Windows Server 2016
  • Microsoft 365 Modern Desktop Administrator 
  • Experience of administrating Windows server services and features such as DHCP, Printer, DNS and Microsoft Active directory
  • Windows 10 and 11 deployment experience, including autopilot, modern desktop experience, working with Microsoft End point manager
  • Knowledge of Meraki cloud-based dashboard which includes Meraki Access points, CCTV and Teleworker 4G gateway
