Working within the Product Management Team, the Configuration Analysts will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting the configuration for the Bank’s core Lending Platform product estate which underpin critical financial services within the Banking and Payments directorate.

Ideal candidate will have relevant prior experience of business analysis and configuration management with specific exposure to the Asset Finance or Leasing/Lending industry.

The CA will be expected to drive the functional integrity of the process and overall solution, ensuring that the product behaviour is in-line, and fully supports the business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work intently within the Product team to provide configuration support and assist with the implementation of new requirements.
  • Analyse stakeholder’s objective by investigating into business requirements or root cause analysis of the issue/problem to present and implement configuration solutions.
  • Consult with Change team and/or vendor to understand the requirements in sufficient detail to be able to configure the application.
  • Approach business SMEs for elaboration of requirement and to evaluate a proposal in relevant cases.
  • Regular engagement with system vendors to resolve queries, build a better understanding of the system, and learn about any new changes being implemented.
  • Analyse release notes issued by the product vendor on each version update, assess new changes, and implement new or update any required configuration.
  • Work with Test team to prepare a test plan and test data in preparation for testing.
  • Prepare the configured systems for handover to the relevant team(s).
  • Proactively identify and find solutions for issues raised during testing phases, such as user acceptance testing (UAT), system testing and build verification testing.
  • Document & archive the configured system and any testing/usability peculiarity to enable subsequent reference, system maintenance and regression testing.
  • Respond to and resolve queries relevant to the Configuration team activities.
  • Learn business domain and use the experience to support the Bank’s production and UAT Lending platform.

Key Requirements:

  • Have strong technical aptitude and possesses a good knowledge of the asset finance business domain in capacity of business or configuration analyst.
  • Experience of configuring Asset Finance software specific for Leasing/Lending industry, e.g,, ALFA v5, FIS Ambit, Casiopae or Netsol Ascent.
  • Shows a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Have the ability to create concise, informative technical documentation.
  • Able to investigate defined business areas and IT systems and adopt an analytical approach when developing models to represent those systems.
  • Good interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively and confidently with Business as well as Technology stakeholders using suitable modes of communication.
  • Aware of the rationale for modelling and the use of models to analyse, develop and implement effective information systems.
  • Aware of the rationale for business and configuration analysis and the application of these skills and techniques within the business change and software development lifecycles.
  • Have the ability to identify and escalate risks in the interest of protecting Live services/systems.
  • Can form and maintain trusting relationships with business colleagues and demonstrate an understanding of business processes.
  • Have advanced Excel knowledge and can use Macros/Scripts effectively.
  • SQL is essential for investigative purposes.
  • Knowledge of additional scripting languages and API toolkit will be useful.
